Proposed new stations on the Great Western Main Line

Wantage railway station

In June 2009 the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) produced a report called 'Connecting Communities' in which it was suggested that Wantage Road railway station would be a viable station to re-open during any expansion of the rail network.^[1] The new station would be named either "Wantage and Grove" or "Wantage Parkway".

Harrogate Line

In connection with the possible electrification of the Harrogate Line, the following new stations are proposed:^[2]

• Leeds Bradford International Airport Parkway
• Buttersyke Bar – park and ride
• Bilton
• Belmont
• Knaresborough East
• Nether Poppleton
